Description:
Bradley Manor is a 13th century medieval manor house set in the surroundings of seventy acres of woodlands and meadows in Bradley Vale which the River Lemon runs through.  The area has been inhabited since the Stone Age and the surrounding hills were fortified and farmed from the Iron Age.
The Manor is now run by the National Trust since 1938, after being given by Mrs A H Woolner.  The house is still lived in and managed by her family.
The manor house has a notable great hall which is adorned with the royal coat of arms of Elizabeth I.
It also has a remarkable collection of pre-Raphaelite pictures and arts and crafts furniture.
In the surrounding woodland you can see the ‘Puritan Pit’, which is a natural hollow where non-conformists held their secret meetings to avoid persecution.
