Newton Abbot Livestock Market

The Livestock Market began at its current location in 1938 and was later upgraded in the 1950's .  The Sheep Market was rebuilt under the Multi-storey Car Park in 1970.

The Livestock Markets in Newton Abbot are held in the Cattle Market area on Wednesdays and are run by both:

* Rendells Auctioneers conduct sales of live and dead farming stock for those who may be retiring, changing farming policy or reducing their commitments.  Rendells also hold specialists sales, of Pedigree stock, Vintage tractors, and Rare breeds.

* Sawdye & Harris are auctioneers of prime and store livestock at Exeter Market, which is Devon's biggest market as well as the wednesday Livestock Market at Newton Abbot.

Additionally, Rendells also run Poultry Sales every second Saturday between March and December and occasional Plant Auctions.
