The building of the church began in 1936 and was not completed until 1963. It was built as a result of a dream experienced by the Rector of Coffinswell, the Rev. W. Keble Martin, and is known as the, 'Dream Church'.
St Luke's is a parish opposed to the ordination of women, and has passed all the appropriate resolutions under existing legistlation, and is under the Episcopal care of the Provincial Episcopal Visitor, the Bishop of Ebbsfleet. The parish is a member of Forward in Faith.

Saturday at 9am – Mass
On Solomneties and Holydays there is usually a Sung Mass at 7.30pm.
The Easter Triduum and other seasonal liturgies are celebrated in full.

Other activities with meetings in the Church Hall include
Michaelmas Club at 2.30pm on first and third Thursdays of the month
Ladies Fellowship at 7.30pm on the first Wednesday of the month
Brownies at 7pm on Tuesdays during term time
The hall is well used by other organisations and is available for hire.
