I have nearly 30 years experience of working with children and over 7 years in the recruitment industry. I began my career caring for children whilst still studying in education. I travelled as a live-in nanny in some of the most exclusive homes in England, working alongside many other domestic staff. I have owned and managed my own children’s Day nursery working closely with social services protecting potentially vulnerable children. I have seen and experienced vast changes in the Nanny industry over the last three decades, and none more-so than in the West Country. Nannies are now more commonly referred to by their own name and few are still expected to wear uniform. There is an increasing trend to build relationships between clients and candidates and such changes I welcome as a positive environment for today’s children.
